SLPP has received National Excellence Award for Energy Management as an “ EXCELLENT ENERGY EFFICIENT UNIT” for the year 2014. The award was conferred by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in a programme held in Hyderabad on 30th October, 2014.
The objective of the Award Scheme instituted by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) is to recognize and Award “Excellence” in Energy Management among the Industrial Sector and facilitate sharing of information on Best practices & technologies. Energy
Award is the motivation to the organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the area of energy efficiency to showcase their efforts and achievements.
The winners were selected on the basis of quantum of electrical & thermal energy saving incurred due to implementation of Energy Efficiency projects & their impact on reduction of green house gases emission. The projects were also evaluated on the basis
of ‘Innovation’ ‘Replicability or Usefulness across industry’ ‘Approach & Methodology in implementation process’& ‘Sustainability’.
SLPP presented 9 selected energy saving projects in ‘Without-Investment’ category & 24 selected energy saving projects in ‘ With-Investment’ category. All these projects have resulted in total energy saving of 32.09 MUs & mo re than 37 thousand metric tons
of lignite.
Total 205 industries participated in this competition from all over India. 10 Power Utilities were shortlisted in the Thermal Power sector. SLPP got selected as an “ EXCELLENT ENERGY EFFICIENT UNIT” for the year 2014 in this category among the shortlisted.
